I love unposed photos, and black and white also.
I have never understood why I like b&w photos and films better than color.
Odd to say, color makes things seem less real, in some strange way.
And yet this is true only for certain types of images. Paintings look better in color. But many natural images, hallways, people, mountains, look more...stark? Vivid? Sharp? in black and white.
