You are viewing one limb of a large piece of trunk material from a cottenwood tree, that had to be cut down 8 years ago because it s roots had grown into the septic line. I am not sure what caused the pefectly round holes, though I am guessing some sort of amazing insect that can make its home inside of a tree. Or maybe ET's leaving clues just like in crop circles =) If i recall correctly , I used this event as a GOOD REASON HUMANS DO NOT BELONG IN THE DESERT ENVIRONMENT.
Let the old cottenwood have the septic lines, the ants have all the sand, the mice and Kangaroo rats have all the corners and cubboards, the vinagrews and all the other spiders can crawl without restriction, the snakes . well other then the GREEN MOJAVE incident, they stay well hidden and the SCORPIANS Ahhhhhhhhhhh.... another strong example why humans do not belong in the desert!!!
oh...yes the drift wood has been drying out there for 8 years
