Very cool MB!!! What is it a stepping stone? I can see where breaking dishes and pottery pieces would be very cathartic. I've done a lot of glass mosaics..but I get no sat-is-faction atall...cutting all the little pieces just so..and grinding the edges...just so..then making them fit in the design..and HMMOG don't get me started on grouting...I loathe that part with a passion...sometimes taking years to grout it out. As a matter of fact...I have all but stopped selling my crosses, frames etc because of grout...okay chill ruthi...she gets it.
Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying it..you can really do some cool stuff with mosaics..especially outdoor things, flower pots. table tops, stools. (you can also add old jewelry, coins, findings)
I'm sending you the link for a grout tester website..lots of good info..and you can check to see how your piece will look with different colored grouts.
Good Grouting...raw

((((RUTH))) you are just dam fantastic!!! that site is going to be so helpful!!!! I can see where working with glass would be time consuming. The SMASHING was oh so freeing. We just let the hammer swing (with protective eye wear on )and I was amazed how many perfect pieces came out of a random pound of the hammer. There was only one tile clipper for the entire class, so I took it as a challenge and pretty much worked with the incidental shapes that came our of my hammering. The grouting wasn't hard at all-so I'm thinking glass responds differently then tile and stone to the process.
There is also the option of buying pre-cut pieces which I will also experiment with =)
Did you ever add pigment to your grout?? the teacher never did and we ladies were wondering what the possible measurements would be.
