We had one gorgeous golden retriever pup and loved her so dearly that when she was nearly a year old, we called the people who bred their pair of retrievers and said, "We will wait one year for a puppy from you."
They called me a couple of months later and said we could have the pick of the litter and that they had a particular pup in mind for us.
Our dogs and oldest child are 7 (Miss Libby), 6 (Maggie T, for Margaret Thatcher) and 5 (Frances McPantses, the child).
Having two dogs is faboo, except that it costs twice as much and they get into twice as much mischief. They keep each other company and give us twice the love and entertainment.
(sorry to have rambled so)

The 2 puppy concept is alot of fun to think about but the time committment and expense may prove to much for me. Also, I have done some online research regarding having 2 puppies at the same time and most experts do not recommend it, stating the dogs bond closer to eachother instead of their human family. This makes them both harder to train etc....
These so called professionals recommend introducing a new puppy when the first one is a year old or older...
